1. The Easy but slow way:

2. The fast way:
Time Required: 20-40 minutes.
We have farmed Mechanical Chicken on 12 characters total and we have found the best possible spots to farm the 3 distress beacons as fast as possible.
OOX-09/HL Distress Beacon:
Fly to hinterlands.
-Farm at spot #1, kill all the raventusk mobs.
-You can also try spot #2, but we had low success with that one.

Once you receive the beacon, open your bag and accept the quest and do a short escort the chicken quest on the same map.
OOX-17/TN Distress Beacon:
- Go to Dalaran and take the portal to Caverns of time from there.
Fly to Zulfarrak (Instance) and farm all mobs for the beacon.

Once you receive the beacon, open your bag, accept the quest and do a short escort the chicken quest on the same map.
OOX-22/FE Distress Beacon:
Now fly to Felaras, go to the area marked and kill Feral Scar Yetis

Once you receive the beacon, open your bag, accept the quest and do a short escort the chicken quest on the same map
Once you have completed all 3 chicken escort quest it's time to get your Chicken as reward.
Go to Cape of Stranglethorn and talk to Oglethorpe Obnoticus who is a Gnomish Engineer trainer co-ords (43.0, 73.0)

Submit all quests to him and you get your Mechanical Chicken as reward in the next quest in which you just accept and submit to get the pet as reward.
