BfA Leveling Guide, Tips & Tricks, Things I Wish I Knew [Comprehensive]
#1
I have compiled this guide using various sources on Reddit, MMO-Champion and Feedback forums of levelling add-ons, so this guide is as comprehensive as it gets and includes everything you will need to know for the upcoming expansion Battle for Azeroth 8.0.1.

Preface:

So, the initial levelling process is probably the longest it has been in an expansion in a long time. It takes about 12-16 hours to finish every single quest in every single zone. Alts levelling can be done much quicker usually taking around 8-10 hours. There is an extremely detailed spreadsheet that goes into every little detail which this guide won't cover if you are interested in it here is the download link for it:

This Google Spreadsheet goes into extreme detail on what to do at what level for both factions.

Content Release Dates:

ContentRelease Date (Speculation)
BfA Expansion release14 August 2018
BfA Raid Release Date(most likely and now in the beta Calendar)5 September 2018
BfA Mythic Release  Date (most likely and now in the beta Calendar)12 September 2018

Things That Will Help You:

War Mode(pvp enabled):
  • To turn War Mode on, visit a city and enable it from talent screen. Enables you for pvp, whatever server you are on.
  • It awards 15% more xp, 10% more WQ reward, a buff from 10 horde kills and 4 talents(1 cc talent, and 3 of the ones we know from legion.)
  • If you are an Assassin, your position on the world map is shown.
  • Random pvp supplies will sometimes fall down from the sky, dropped off from air ships. Rewards conquest points, ap and gear.
  • The other faction can't attack you before they have reached level 112 and started doing the war campaign quest. So for alot of the leveling, the war mode seem op and totally worth it, without any risk of being attacked. You need to go back to Stormwind to turn it on, so do this before you head out.
Jewelcrafter:

Jewelcrafter can from skill level 1, craft a 5% experience gem. It seems so simple, that you might want to be JC, and then just take a few nodes, and make the gem.

Guild Banners:

Level with guild banner. There are 3 different banners, they each have a 10min cd. But if you pop one, the other 2 only gets a 2min cd. So you can circle through them. they are 15% 10% and 5% XP buffs for 100 yards.

Legion Legendaries:

are two of the best legendaries from Legion to speed up your levelling process

Goblin Gliders:
Horde players absolutely need this!! Buy this now when they sell for cheap otherwise, their price will skyrocket in BfA I guarantee You need around 40-50 of these.

Consumables:
No one is levelling right now or doing serious progression push, the consumables are as cheap as they come. Stockpile on them.

Things I Wish I Knew While Levelling:
  • In the middle of doing war campaigns, It turned out you now needed 100 resources, to start your war campaigns, so this needed to be farmed while levelling up in the first zone, most likely from chests and rares. (They are now also given from doing normal quest, so no issue at all but kill a few rares and chests).
  • There is a new Scrap-o-matic which takes your gear loot and give you resources. Do not sell/vendor gear you don't need!
You can read more about him here:
You must post a reply below to unlock this link
  • There are a lot of 3 man group quests, which tanks can solo as well as some dps classes with pet tanks and Havoc. Levelling as a tank is absolutely worth it this expansion.
  • The scaling in the zones is not always great, especially when you hit 120, everything becomes quite hard suddently, because of this i suggest getting war campaigns and such done, while leveling, and not at 120.
Leveling Breakdown for BfA:

Level 110

Start with Silithus quest, talk to Magni, do the quest chain, port to capital, do scenario. The scenario is important to complete asap to pull ahead of the others.

Once you've arrived at the new continent do all of the starting quests and pick up your 2 selected professions (new BFA ranks). Set your hearthstone at the local tavern. No point starting War Campaign now. Go to Vol'dun/Drustvar and complete story chapter there + a few side quests. Collect treasures to get 100 resources.

Level 113

When you're done with Vol'dun/Drustvar you should be level 113 and have 110+ resources. Return to faction hub and do all the available quests (on the ship) for War Campaign. For opposing faction's first zone pick the one illustrated to the right: Drustvar/Vol'dun first, Stormsong Valley/Nazmir second, etc.

Once you send out your followers on the 2 hour missions you can head to the next zone: Nazmir/Stormsong Valley

Level 116

Do Stormsong Valley/Nazmir story questline, then go to back to the main city hub.

Do all the available War Campaign quests once again. Second foothold, expedition quest and ship upgrade for resources. Then proceed to Zuldazar/Tiragarde Sound.

Level 117

Once you're done with Zuldazar/Tiragarde Sound you should be around level 118-119. Go and do remaining quests for War Campaign (3rd foothold).

Level 118

Zuldazar assault/Jaina questlines are unlocked. Start and finish them.

Level 119

Get the last 0.5-1 level in any zone with any side quests you left behind.

Level 120

1. Go to the ship and pick up all the quest as soon as you reach lvl 120.

2. World Quests in every location except "Champions of Azeroth" should appear now + you get the whistle.

3. Do the quest chain to unlock the "Champions of Azeroth" World Quests. Starts in Silithus, the portal is in your faction's capital.

4. At this point, you should have your Inscription at 75 to start crafting Contracts.

5. Use "Contract: Champions of Azeroth" and do all the dailies available.

6. Once you've done with Champions of Azeroth dailies you can return to War Campaign questline.
